What is UX Design and its benefits?

UX Design, also called User Experience Design, is a design technique that focuses on the user experience. Its goal is to optimize the customer experience in all aspects that intervene between the brand and the consumer. Nowadays, some people actually consider UX only as the digital aspect of the customer experience rather than the whole experience however it might be.

The tools that are primarily included in UX Design are websites, mobile applications, software, interactive kiosks and other user interfaces.

In order to understand UX Design you need to put yourself in the shoes of the customer and try to understand him. Ask yourself the questions "When, What, Why, Where, How? ". It is by answering these questions that you will create an experience that corresponds to your customer's needs and not yours. This is the difference and subtlety. You adapt to your customers and not the other way around to generate an ideal experience.

It's probably because of today's dynamic and competitive business market that industry standards and business norms have changed. It is no longer tolerated for brands to not consider their customers experiences and needs. The industry standards have changed and if you still want to be part of the game you must follow them. Nowadays, using UX Design will change your brand image for the better.

As you might have guessed, UX design uses a lot of automation and digitalization tools. However, you have to adapt to your customers and find the right balance between digitalization and human interaction. Knowing that every customer segment is different you want to offer a adapted and personnalized experience to your audience.

UX Design tries to involve customers as much as possible, and the whole process is not built in one day, it takes a lot of time. But don't worry, your efforts will be greatly rewarded! The key to using this technique in most effective way possible is to test. By comparing and analyzing the differences in performance between different strategies and methods, you can better understand your customer base and adjust your strategy.

What better way to prove the effectiveness of UX Design than with statistics ?

- 53% of mobile users leave websites after 3 seconds. This is proof that brands are failing to satisfy their potential customers in terms of experience. Brands can't even successfully attract customers because their is so much information to look at. Make the effort for your customers to adapt to them, and thus adapt your content to the different devices they use.

- 52% of users say that aesthetics is the main reason why they will not return to a website. This is in line with the fact that brand image is essential to define a company and should  be taken seriously. The brand image and the first impression that you send back are determining your results in a way.

- 90% of users have stopped using an application because of its poor performance. Where UX Design knows how to stand out because it adapts to the customers' expectations and not to the company's needs.

- Only 1% of users say that e-commerce sites always meet their expectations. Again, businesses are failing to meet customer's expectations according to them.
