Whether you are about to launch your new website, or you already have one, your ambition should be to have a first page positioning on Google and other online search engines. This is called "web referencing", "organic referencing" or SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
All these terms are terms that you have probably already heard of but you are probably still wondering how to improve the referencing of your website on Google to appear on the first page and therefore, increase traffic and sales.
In this article, OSHARA will show you how to achieve SEO success in 3 months.
SEO is a set of strategies that we implement on a website to allow it to have a good positioning (ideally on the first page) on search engines. Requiring more than 200 optimization criteria, SEO requires know-how, experience and especially time. SEO is broken down into two parts: on-site and off-site referencing.
Until a few years ago, many companies underestimated the importance of having a good visibility on the internet. Since 2019, these behaviors have drastically changed, and the trend is getting even stronger in 2021. Companies everywhere are fighting for a spot on the first page every time their products or services are searched for online.
You know, when you participate in a competition for example, the most important thing is always your "Preparation" right? And no matter what your goal is, whether it's a gold medal or a simple invitation to the champions table, it's your "Preparation" that will always determine your success. Consider that this reality is the same on the web.
If you are a business in 2021 and you want to survive in this world where competition is fiercer than ever, you must imperatively seek to improve your position on Google and appear on the first page of online search results.
We are going to reveal to you how you can put yourself at the top of internet searches in 3 months, and keep up with your biggest competitors on the web.
Here we go!
Month 1 is the most important month of this new adventure and the process of improving your online ranking through SEO.
The first month of your upwardly mobile program will determine your short, medium and long-term SEO success. This is essentially your PREPARATION MONTH.
If you have already completed all your homework and the description of your services is clear and precise, you must now invest time in a thorough SEO analysis of your competitors on the Internet.
The objective of this exercise is to identify who has the best visibility on the internet in your sector of activity. These will be your examples, but also your targets to beat.
In addition to the resources and investments you will have to make to succeed in achieving your SEO goals, knowing who your competitors are will give you a clearer vision of the challenges you will have to face.
How to succeed in this SEO analysis?
Ideal for new websites:
Using your service keywords, do a Google search to see which companies appear on the first page.
In an Excel or Google Sheets file, list these companies and their website link. You will need this to evaluate and analyze their content.
Try different keyword combinations to maximize your results and confirm who your best online competitors are.
In another Excel file, keep a record of these keywords because you will need them when creating your content.
Ideal for existing websites:
Use a tool like SEMRush or AhRef to analyze your competitors. These tools will allow you to highlight the keywords that competing websites that appear on the first page use the most.
Thus, you will know the search terms that generate traffic on their website. Analyze between 3 and 4 competitors maximum in your field of activity.
You can also do a Google search using the keywords of your services to identify which companies appear on the first page.
In an Excel file, list these companies and the link to their website. This will be useful later to evaluate and analyze their content.

Now that you know who your competitors are, it's time to find out which keywords and pages on their websites rank them best on Google and other search engines.
The important thing to remember here is that Google is not like you and me. Google is not a human being and therefore does not read content the same way we do.
The way Google positions your site will therefore depend heavily on what the algorithms (robots) will consider as relevant or not in your content.
Seen from this angle, the keywords you use will be decisive in your positioning at the top of search engines and on Google.
Ideal for new and existing websites:
Open the Excel file of keywords that you have previously created in the competitor analysis phase.
Analyze the content of each main page (home and services) of your best competitors and identify their keywords.
Tip: You can use tools and plugins like "wordtracker scout" to extract the keywords of these pages in just a few clicks.
Add in your file, the link of the pages of your competitors "to beat", this will allow you to optimize yours later.
Use tools like SemRush to get a more accurate comparison of your website's positioning against your competitors' according to your keywords on Semrush will also suggest new keywords, used by your competitors to improve their search engine positioning and their CPC (Cost Per Click). Add them to your keyword list.
To achieve a good SEO, you must prioritize the keywords that have:
A high CPC (cost per click). This indicates the value of the keyword; it is a sign that visitors are converting into customers)
Tip: For a start, choose 10 to 20 keywords to focus on and build from there. It is not necessary to choose many them or you will not be effective.
Google Analytics and Google Console are essential tools for successful SEO analysis and performance evaluation of your website. You should install them early in the process so that you can start tracking data that will be useful in the second month.

During this month, you will optimize the SEO content of your website's referring pages. This is also called On-Page SEO.
Simply put, On-Page SEO is the SEO of a page through a set of internal factors that make a website useful and relevant to the visitor.
This is an important step to determine and identify any potential problems with your website that could prevent Google from ranking you favorably and on the first page of online search results. You can use our free tool to successfully complete this exercise.
Most of the time, the SEO problems found are technical or textual. Take the time to evaluate them and plan the corrections. Some common examples are:
Create an article, video, or audio content every week to catapult your website to the top of Google search results and achieve SEO success.
Feed and optimize your website frequently with content that engages visitors and keeps them coming back.
(Note: when it comes to SEO, video and audio content don't rank as high on Google, but they are still important for developing relationships with visitors).
So, if you're a producer of primarily video and audio content, make sure you have text content on your site as well.
This month can also be considered the OPTIMIZATION MONTH, this is the month where you will use your resources to create backlinks and improve your visibility on social networks.
Get links to websites with high authority that can recommend your content. To succeed in SEO, Google gives more weight to the following links:
Take your list of websites, then line by line, send an email to each website owner asking them to link to your content.
You will, of course, need to give them a good reason to do so. So, you'll need to provide them with the link to the competitor's article that they already recommend and show them how your content is similar and better, and how it can better serve their readers.
It's a tedious task, but worth the time and effort you'll put into it.
Sample email copy:
"Hi, [NAME]! I noticed you linked to a post [give link] on XYZ. I just wanted you to know that I created a post with similar content, but my post also includes XYZ which I think your audience might find useful. Feel free to link to [include your article URL]. Thanks for your consideration!"
Shares on social networks don't directly impact SEO, but they are helpful. The more people who share, the more traffic, the more views, the more engagement, and the more likely others will engage with your content.
Have social sharing buttons on your site. Thanks to them you will get free advertising from your website visitors.
Encourage your website visitors and social media followers to share your content. Sometimes you just need to ask people.
Use a tool like Buzzsumo.com to find out who is sharing content similar to yours and ask them to share your content (only ask if it is relevant to their audience's needs).
