How to produce quality content?

What is quality content?

Quality content is content that is both useful for your readers and optimized for SEO. Quality content that meets both criteria will help you to:

The target of your content

Keep in mind that you are writing for people. Your goal may be to improve your SEO, but if your content is not written for and about people, you will not have good results and you will lose a lot of points in the eyes of search engines.

Indeed, when you write for Internet users, you put yourself in their place and you produce very interesting content for them. This means that the person reading your text will find answers to their questions and will enjoy reading you. In the end, they can share your content with their friends and family and thus offer you more traffic. In addition, they will be tempted to come back to your site to look for other interesting content. The more visitors you have, and the more time they spend on your content, the more Google will highlight this content because it considers it to be very interesting. The length and SEO optimization of your content elements

The length of your content is very important for your SEO. Each element of your content must have a minimum length to give it more weight.

Length of your title ( meta_title )

Your page title (meta_title) must have a length between 55 and 65 characters. By respecting this number of characters, your title will be displayed in full in the search engine results. You should avoid that parts of your title are replaced by suspension points.

  • Your page title must contain the main keyword of your content at the beginning of it. On this point, put only one keyword in the title. Avoid putting a lot of them.

  • Make titles with questions. With a title like "how to do...?", you arouse more curiosity from your user. This can easily push him to read your content.
  • Create emotion with your titles. A title that creates emotional response is more likely to attract the user than a normal title.

Length of your description ( meta_description )

Just like the meta_title tag, the description of your page has a recommended length. For a complete display on search engines, your meta_description should be between 135 and 160 characters. Make a precise summary of your content without rambling so that the user can clearly see what the content is about. Be brief but specific enough to not use more characters than expected.

  • One of the key points to focus on is the addition of the main keyword in the description. When reading the description, the user must find what he is looking for.
  • Do not copy and paste! Search engines will know if you copy from others and will value your content. Be inspired by others but do not copy them. Be original.
  • Use phrases that call to action. The meta description is very important because it can push the user to go and see your article or not. It is therefore essential to invite the user through your description to click on your page to get a given result.

Length of the article

The number of words in an article is important for it. Indeed, we consider that an article that wants to explain and solve a problem can not be a short article (100, 200 words). It is recommended that your article be at least 1000-1500 words. This is not a general rule because depending on your sector of activity you will have to write articles with more or less words. The other advantage of articles with a lot of words is that you have the possibility to put a lot of keywords (the main keyword and the LSI keywords).

However, note that the quality of your text is more important than its length. If you write a long article that is not interesting and not coherent, you will lose many points in your SEO. However, having a well-written and good quality article will generate more visits and shares. Oshara advises you to write articles that are long enough but very interesting for your readers. You will capture their attention, they will spend more time on your articles and can share them on their favorite social networks. 

Don't forget that the more time a user spends on your article, the more Google considers it important and of good quality.

The Keywords

We can never repeat it enough, keywords are the heart of your writing. If content is king for SEO, the keyword is king of content. Without keywords your content has no value. 

A keyword is a word or a group of words that users type into search engines such as Google, Bing, Qwant and others. It is also a word or a set of words defining your content. 

Keywords are therefore the most important elements that generate traffic through search engines. Indeed, they help to give an answer to the research of the Internet users and thus to push them to click on your page.You can use them randomly, on the contrary keywords must be chosen and placed according to given rules.

The keywords must correspond to the searches of the Internet user

Indeed, it is not enough to have content connected to a keyword to be effective. If you want to have more impact and be well referenced, your keywords must deal with topics that are interesting for the user. Let's take for example a user who is looking for information on how to make orange juice. And on your site you have an article that presents orange juice without showing the user how to make it. You will have an article with the keyword "orange juice" but because you don't deal with its subject, the user will not click on your link. We advise you, in order to have a better chance of acquiring potential customers, to deal with many subjects on a keyword. Thus with a single keyword you can have several articles that can answer several users at the same time.

The use of keywords in the introduction

Just like the presence of the keyword in the title of the page, in the title of the content and others, the presence of the keyword in the introduction or the first hundred (100) words is of great importance. The reader must find what he is looking for in the first hundred (100) words. This will capture their attention and they will be able to concentrate on reading the rest of the text. On the other hand, if he does not find what he is looking for in your first words, there is very little chance that he will continue reading and a very high chance that he will leave your site without having spent a single minute. However, the more time visitors spend on your site, the more your SEO is positively impacted.

Finally, we advise you to place your keywords in:

  • Your meta title
  • Your meta description
  • The titles and subtitles of your content
  • Your introduction
  • Your links
  • The conclusion of your article
  • The descriptions of your images
  • The text of your content etc.

Avoid plagiarism

A quality content is above all an original content. Each content must be written without copying another. Google hates copied texts. You can be inspired by texts on the net or by your competitors, but always take the time to rewrite them in your own way and add your knowledge. 

Second point, avoid copying yourself. Google does not only sanction copying others, it also sanctions when you copy yourself. When you want to put new information on a topic, rewrite another article or update the article you already have. Don't copy the old article and fill in your new information.
